Homework will be set this Friday. As part of the maths homework this week, could you please encourage your child to play the following place value game a few times. It will really help to secure their understanding of bigger numbers. Thank you! 

SWIMMING WILL START ON WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER

Our swimming lesson starts promptly at 9.00 until 9.30.

Please wait with your child outside the leisure centre until a school adult arrives at 8.40 so giving you time to get siblings to school before 8.55.

A school adult will pick up breakfast club children at 8.35 to walk to the pool.

There will be limited time to dry hair so we recommend swimming hats to be worn.

Children can come with swimming clothes on under their normal school clothes and wearing a swim hat, however please remember to bring underwear.

Please ensure all jewellery is removed, including all ear rings before entering the pool.

Reading Books

Whenever possible, please listen to your child read every day. This is the most important 'homework' that you can do with your child and makes an enormous difference to progress in all subjects. Your child will also benefit greatly from being read to on a regular basis. Sharing a book at bed time is a lovely way for both you and your child to spend quality time together. 

P.E. 

For the first half of the Autumn term, P.E. lessons will take place on a Monday and a Wednesday. This half term we will be swimming at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre. You will receive a letter/email about this during the first week back at school. Swimming will start on Wednesday 16th September.

These sessions may be outside, subject to weather conditions. Please ensure your child is suitably dressed for the time of year, including hats and sun cream as the weather requires. 

Water bottles

Could I ask that all children have a named water bottle in school every day. Provided that it contains water, they will be allowed to keep this on their desk so that they can drink as often as they wish to. These should be taken home each night to be washed and refilled. 

Allergy Advice 

This year we have children with a severe dairy allergy causing  anaphylaxis in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. For this reason, all children must only bring nut and dairy free snacks. Fruit is ideal. 

Please do not be offended if we ask your child to get changed due to spillages of food during the day or if we ask your child to change on arrival at the start of their day. 

For this reason a full change of clothes must always left on your child's peg and remain in school. (This does not have to be school uniform)
