Allergy Advice 

We have children across school  with severe dairy allergies causing  anaphylaxis. For this reason, all children must only bring nut and dairy free snacks. Fruit is ideal. 

Please do not be offended if we ask your child to get changed due to spillages of food during the day or if we ask your child to change on arrival at the start of their day. 

For this reason  a full change of clothes must always left on your child's peg and remain in school.

(This does not have to be school uniform)

Reading Books in LKS2

Our focus in reading in KS2 is to improve children's reading fluency and comprehension. We ask parents and carers to aim to:

a)Hear your child read everyday, asking questions to check comprehension. Most reading scheme books will have questions in them to help you. Encourage your child to use their phonics knowledge to sound out new words.

b)Comment in the yellow reading diary, especially if any words are proving tricky.

c) Bring the reading book and diary in every day. We will remind children every morning and show  where to put them.

d) If the book has been finished, we will endeavour to change the book that day.

e) Reading dairy and reading books will be given back out at the end of every day.

f) If your child is a free reader, we still like the reading diary to be completed and brought in daily. We are then able to encourage your child to read a broad range of genres.
